Vacation Day 7 - Dahlonega to Charlotte to Pittsburgh

Thursday evening, after wiping sticky lemonade off of everything in my purse and setting my purse up to air dry, we checked out the weather forecast for Charlotte, NC. Our plan was to drive to Charlotte on Friday, spend the day, then drive home on Saturday. But the forecast didn't look good - it looked like rain.

We set off Friday morning knowing that the ticker tape said 'cloudy' for Charlotte but the map showed rain. As we approached Charlotte, it was cloudy, but not rainy, but it could rain as there were gray clouds drifting around, but then again maybe it wouldn't rain...

We got closer & closer to the exit and then, a couple miles before the exit, a decision was made: we would skip Charlotte and drive the remaining 7 hours to home and our own bed and own shower.

We got home around 8 pm, unpacked, and then relaxed with some nice hot tea and a snack before falling into our own bed for a wonderful 9 hour sleep.

So vacation is over. It was fun. Now we're busy doing laundry and grocery shopping and other errands. My parents came back from Dahlonega today and will be here with us for another week and a half. It's always nice to get away for a while, always nice to visit family you don't get to see often, but it's also always nice to come home.
