He said it was delicious.
Here's proof that Saturday was a bit too hot to do much of anything:
Otis, or one of his relatives, lounging in the shade in our backyard.
On Saturday, we got up early - too early for a Saturday!! We both had appointments to get hair cuts, and in my case colored. I have unfortunately inherited the maternal 'hair turns gray at a young age' gene. For a while, I simply high-lighted my dark brown hair with blond high-lights - it seemed to do a decent job of hiding the gray. Eventually my hair lightened enough that friends I hadn't seen in a while would comment on the light color of my hair and one day my brother came to visit, took one look, and asked,"When did you dye your hair blond?"
High-lights no longer conceal the gray. Plus, I longed to be all brunette again (no blond). I now color all my hair back to its original brown color (or at least as close as we can get from studying college and grad school photos).
I also got it cut short - yay! It was long, for me, too long, and every day I would get annoyed with the shedding and trying to lasso it into some presentable style. No more - I got 4-5 inches lopped off. It's just below my ears. Ahhhh so nice and light and cool!!!
After my hair appointment, we met my friend L and her 2 sons at Panera for coffee and a snack. SP helped L's sons identify all the Fantastic Four & X-Men super heroes in their books. I snacked on an asiago cheese bagel with plain cream cheese & a decaf latte. SP had Summer Corn Chowder and a roll then a bit later he had a bagel with veggie cream cheese.
While SP went to get his hair cut, I stayed at Panera, visiting with L until she left, then I relaxed while sipping coffee and reading the newspaper and a book. After his hair cut, SP picked me up and we did errands.
Then it was home for a bit of a rest!
