CSA 30 - The Final Box

Today is the last CSA box for 2009. Our final CSA goodies: a pint of apple butter, carrots, brussel sprouts, three pounds staymen winesap apples, white onions, salad mix, hakurei & scarlet turnips, and butternut squash.
My mom used to serve brussel sprouts when I was a very young child. I don't think I've had one on my plate since I was 10. Turns out mom and dad never really liked those frozen, cook in boiling water green blobs. I'll give them another try, hopefully they'll be better roasted or sauteed with butter. Just not boiled.

  1. Brussel sprouts are delicious roasted; they have an unfair rap because they in fact are disgusting boiled, which is exactly how most people remember having had them.
