Wendy's & Wedding

My mom is in town to help finish up wedding stuff. The big day is this month!! Very soon. Thursday we set off early to accomplish some tasks on 'The List.'

Yes, I know, our wedding is 2-3 weeks away and there are things not yet completely sorted out (like I still haven't decided on the reception centerpieces!)!!! I always get an incredulous look when I am sorting out wedding stuff and someone asks me when it is and I say 'April' -- it's like their eyes bug out and they suck in the breath and get all disapproving that I didn't have every single little detail pinned down 6 months ago.

Did I mention it's a small, casual wedding? Just family & Pittsburgh friends - about 50 people. No bridesmaids/ushers. No DJ/dancing. I have the church, reverend, reception restaurant, food/drink (cookie table!), and my bouquet figured out. Table centerpieces and programs, if we have them, fine, if not, no big deal to me. I haven't dreamed of my wedding since I was a little girl so if the peach napkins don't turn out to be the perfect shade of pale peach, well, I won't be having a meltdown and accusing the restaurant of ruining my day!

I had a fitting for my dress earlier this week, so that's almost finished. Thursday's errands included wedding and non-wedding chores. There were trips to Sarris Candies (where it was very hard to resist the Easter candies), Bethel Bakery, 2 Hallmark stores, the beer place (we need beer for the soon to arrive out of town family), the dry cleaners, the bank, and the mall.

As far as wedding stuff is concerned, we finalized the favors, which we will be picking up on Monday. We made the final cake payment and made sure everything is set up and OK. We bought a cake knife/server set that matches the unity candle set. We got thank you cards. We bought a tie for my 5 year old nephew and a tie for my dad (and dropped his suit off at the dry cleaners). And we browsed necklaces & earrings for me and my niece but didn't settle on anything.

And, I exchanged a Clinique purchase for another different kind of Clinique plus more Clinique. Good thing the recent Clinique purchases are on my credit card and that SP never sees that bill since I receive my bill electronically and pay it electronically from my account (we don't yet have a joint account).

Anyways, lunch today was Wendy's!!!! Whenever mom and I are out running errands, we always seem to end up grabbing a quick lunch at Wendy's and munching away in the car. Instead of our usual Junior Bacon Cheeseburgers, we decided to try the Bacon & Blue Burger. Bacon, onions, lettuce, tomato, and blue cheese on a burger. It was pretty tasty, but it's a lot bigger than the Junior Bacon Cheeseburger. A bit big for me for lunch. Next time, I'll stick with the Junior Bacon Cheeseburger.

  1. Wow, you are getting married this month?! I think that is the first time you've mentioned that on the blog (since I have been reading)!

    So happy for you both!
