Quick Dessert

SP & I were in charge of Easter dessert. I know, Easter was a while ago, but I'm a little behind on my blogging. We were very busy right before Easter and didn't really have time to make something from scratch. So we cheated.

I felt very Sandra Lee like.

  • Angel food cake from Market District Bakery
  • Strawberries from Market District
  • Jello Instant Chocolate Pudding
  • Cool Whip

Remove cake from aluminum pan and place on pretty cake carrier. Wash & slice strawberries. Make pudding. Fold about 3/4 tub Cool Whip into pudding. Chill pudding mixture for a few hours/overnight.  Serve cake with strawberries and pudding mixture on the side.

I happen to really like this dessert. SP sniffed at the store bought angel food cake and what was worse, in his opinion, was the instant pudding mixed with Cool Whip. *shudder* Cool Whip is one of those things he despises. Next time, he can buy the angel food cake tube pan and find the hours necessary to make homemade cake, homemade pudding, and homemade whipped cream. As for me, I really enjoyed the simple Sandra Lee like dessert!

  1. Instant pudding - yuck, cool whip - yuck. I would have bought the cake and spent the 15 minutes making the pudding and whipping cream!
