Thursday Thoughts

1. I'm almost at the 10 week mark, which means 2 more weeks. Yay! Of course, I won't magically be better, I'll still have a lot of physical therapy to get the hip back to normal, but at least I'll be out of the 'take it easy and be careful' stage.

2. Thanks to SP, I am hooked on another television show: Broadchurch on BBC America. Thank goodness there are only 8 episodes! While watching Broadchurch, we saw an ad for the return of Luther, a show we both love (plus, Idris Elba!). It'll only be 4 episodes. Can't wait!

3. In other TV news, last night I was trying to be a nice wife so I agreed to read while SP watched one of 'his' shows. This one is Continuum on SyFy. I ended up not reading and watching the show. Grrrr. I do NOT need more television! There's 23 episodes. We've watched 3. I hate when I get sucked into his sci-fi shows.

4. This past week I read Hidden Order by Brad Thor and The Heist by Janet Evanovich & Lee Goldberg. Both are authors I regularly read. The Thor book was the usual entertaining story with character Harvath while the Evanovich-Goldberg collaboration was just OK. It seemed just like Evanovich's other novels (Stephanie Plum series and Lizzy-Diesel series and Alex Barnaby series) with the same kinds of characters and wise cracking and such, just different names and different setting.

5. I feel like spiders are taking over the house. I swipe at cobwebs, they reappear. Mom cleans them out of a window, the next day they are back. SP sprays, they don't die. Cleaning lady cleans, next day there's webs. So annoying. And disgusting. Makes me feel like the whole house is filthy.

6. The dryer is making a terrible noise. This will result in either an annoying repair bill or a new purchase. It's only 5 years old, and of course barely out of warranty. I think appliances these days have a built in 'break timer' so that something breaks just after the warranty period.
