Coq Au Vin

One of our favorite fall/winter meals: Coq Au Vin. Between the 2.5 cups of red wine in the Italian Pot Roast and the 3 cups in this dish, it was pretty easy to finish the gigantic bottle of wine!
This is another Joy of Cooking recipe. It's similar to the Italian Pot Roast in that there's lots of wine, carrots, onions, and mushrooms. But this dish has chicken. And bacon. And marjoram. Mmmm bacon. This is easy, too, just time consuming since the chicken braises in all that wine & chicken stock for a while.
Delicious, as always, this time with olive oil bread and broccoli or asparagus. It's also tasty with noodles.
