I've never much liked pudding. Maybe because growing up, we always made instant pudding. It was good, but never great. It was just... there. But then a couple weeks ago, we made homemade pudding and oh my gosh - so good! Richer, creamier, smoother, thicker, more chocolaty. It's a little time consuming, but worth it. It's similar to making ice cream custard.
Vanilla Pudding recipe from Better Homes & Gardens New Cook Book 1989. To make it chocolate pudding, we added 1/3 cup cocoa powder to the sugar, used 2 tablespoons cornstarch, and 2 & 2/3 c whole milk.
