Vanilla Bean Ice Cream

I've been anxiously awaiting homemade ice cream season! I know, you can make/buy/eat ice cream year round, and we keep the ice cream maker's freezer bowl in the freezer year round so it's ready to go, but I get so darn cold in the winter months that my interest in ice cream is nonexistent. Memorial Day Weekend was the perfect time to get out the ice cream maker.
Normally I'm not too excited about vanilla ice cream, but some friends were bringing brownies, and I do like vanilla ice cream and brownies. Plus, we made chocolate chip cookies, and they go nicely with vanilla ice cream. And finally, we had a lot of fruit for the fruit salad, fruit that is yummy on top of vanilla ice cream, specifically, blueberries & strawberries.
If you're SP, you also squirt a mound of whipped cream on top your brownie and ice cream.

This is a very tasty vanilla ice cream. We've made it before - we made it one Christmas for Cherries Jubilee and it was a huge hit with my family. My nephew literally licked the ice cream bowl! It's very vanilla flavored, creamy, smooth, a bit rich but not too rich.

It's also really tasty with a shot of espresso poured over top, which is how we've been eating the leftover ice cream. I haven't taken any photos of that, though.
We use the recipe for Premium Ice Creams: Vanilla Ice Cream that is in the recipe booklet that came with our Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker. Recipe can be found here, scroll to page 8.
