Cafe Lachine

I still have several restaurants from our NC trip share on the blog. We spent a morning exploring the sand dunes at Jockey's Ridge State Park and then went to lunch at Cafe Lachine. It's a cute cafe in Nags Head. They serve breakfast and lunch. We were seated right away, ordered fresh brewed iced tea (really good iced tea) and decided on lunch.
SP chose a "Lunch Box" - sandwich, soup, side, dessert, and beverage. He chose egg salad on wheat toast, the side was fruit side, the mini dessert was a chocolate chip cookie, and he had cup of Creamy She-Crab Soup. He said everything was delicious, just the right size for his lunch, and he ate it all, except for the cookie, which I "stole." He got a third of the cookie!
I chose Fried Green Tomato BLT on brioche. There were several slices of crispy fried, piping hot fried green tomato plus the B & L. It was very tasty if a bit tall of a sandwich for me. Every time I squished the bun, my tomatoes squirted out the back of the bun! I ended up taking a slice or two of tomato off and eating it on the side just to make the sandwich easier to eat.

Our server was very friendly and fun. She poured our leftover iced teas into to-go cups and topped them off - that was very nice and much appreciated.

We really liked our lunch at Cafe Lachine and definitely suggest it for breakfast/lunch if you're in the area.
