The only entree that appealed to me was the Pork Schnitzel (fried egg, capers, salad). The pork schnitzel was enormous! I did not expect 4 anchovies to be perched around the yolk of my fried egg since they were not in the food description. I also did not expect salad to mean a couple spoonfuls of what we think were radish greens. I ended up sliding the egg and anchovies onto a bread plate and giving them to SP. Anchovies. Ick. I ate the radish greens because I wanted some veggie. The pork, however, was delicious, especially with the lemon squeezed over it. I ate about 2/3 and SP ate the other 1/3.
SP chose a side salad and this Smoked Trout starter for his meal. He said his salad was OK and the smoked trout was delicious. He also really enjoyed my pork and scooped up all the capers on my plate.
We liked, but didn't love, The Strand, but it's a decent choice if you're a tourist looking for above average food. Plus, it's in the Trafalgar Square area, so very close to lots of stuff.
