Mall Eating: Red Robin

Back in December mom & I went to South Hills Village Mall. We got hungry for lunch and started wandering the food court, but nothing appealed to us (fast food/mall food rarely does) and we both wanted more than a soft pretzel and we kind of wanted to relax, so we decided to try Red Robin. Neither of us had been to a Red Robin. Being a chain burger restaurant, it didn't seem like my kind of place, but it was our only option for a sit down, out of the hustle & bustle of the mall without leaving the mall place.
It was OK. We shared an appetizer of Pretzel Bites (warm, soft pretzel bites served alongside beer cheese dip). They seemed to be deep fried and I'm not a fan of deep fried soft pretzels. The cheese sauce was that generic cheese sauce, kind of like a generic Velveeta, and I didn't detect beer flavor.
We both chose the same lunch: BLTA Croissant (turkey breast, hardwood-smoked bacon, mayo, lettuce, tomato, and avocado with fries). They were fat fries and I don't like fat fries so I ignored them. The sandwich was OK. I'm pretty picky about my sandwich turkey and this was just OK, it didn't seem like real turkey breast but turkey deli lunch meat, and not all that much of it.
I don't think I'll be back to Red Robin unless I'm in a similar situation: at the mall and desiring a break from the mall hustle & bustle and a meal at a table with a server. Even then, I might choose Subway or the mac & cheese from Noodles & Co. in the food court over Red Robin. I don't like to eat beef burgers when I dine out. I've never dined out on a beef burger and not felt queasy afterwards (except for Wendy's junior bacon cheeseburger) so I just don't order them anymore. Even at Burgatory, BRGR, Burghers, places I do enjoy, I order the chicken breast or a crab cake sandwich, not beef burger.

I will say the service was fantastic, from the greeters to the servers. The food/menu just isn't my thing.
