We've eaten at Bakn many times. I always order the same thing: the #1 Breakfast Sandwich. It's my favorite breakfast sandwich. But the last time we went, we tried some new-to-us dishes. Here's what we ate:
We always share a salad. It always seems like a good idea to begin with some healthy food before diving into all the bacon and cheese. We order the Mixed Greens Salad (romaine, field greens, cucumber, oven roasted tomato, croutons, honey cider vinaigrette). I really like the tomatoes and vinaigrette.
Loaded Onion Rings (bacon & cheddar cheese sauce, green onions). We can't resist these.
We both were in the mood for pancakes so we decided to share a special, a pancake sampler, since we had not yet tried Bakn's pancakes. Two each of blueberry, bacon, and buttermilk pancakes. I don't know if it was because we rarely eat pancakes or not, but these were really good. Really good. We couldn't stop eating them and in no time, they vanished.
After devouring the pancakes, we moved on to the Bakn Flatbread (applewood smoked bacon, peppered bacon, mozzarella, provolone, tomato, dressed arugula). We had not tried the Bakn flatbread on any previous visit. I really enjoyed the thin, crispy crust. And of course the bacon & cheese. We each ate one piece and took the rest home for lunch the next day. The pancakes, onion rings, and salad had filled our bellies.

We really like Bakn in Carnegie. There is now a location in Warrendale, but the Carnegie one is closer for us. Now I'm not sure what to get when we're there, the best breakfast sandwich or those yummy pancakes. Maybe the sandwich and a pancake on the side?
