Thursday Thoughts

  • We grilled for the first time this past weekend. It was nice to not cook inside.
  • We tried to order take-out from Central Diner on Saturday but when we called, they told us they weren't doing take-out. We were really surprised. They were doing take-out even before the pandemic! So we ended up ordering take-out from Downey's House. Salmon for SP. Chicken Parmesan for me.
  • We made our first batch of potato salad. It's good, but it's missing something and I cannot figure out what.

What We're Eating:

What We're Watching:

  • Mare of Easttown (HBO). The final episode aired. It was good. I knew there had to be a twist when it looked like the killer was revealed/arrested in the first 10 minutes.
  • The Kominsky Method Season 3 (Netflix). We enjoyed the first two seasons, so we watched the third & final season of six episodes. It made us laugh and ended nicely.
  • Worst Cooks in America (Food Network). We liked the winner more than the runner up, so we were happy with the results.
  • Friends Reunion Special (HBOMax). We both enjoyed Friends but weren't huge, huge fans. We figured we'd watch the reunion special anyway. It was an hour and 45 minutes long, yet never seemed to dive too much into anything. A nice, short, nostalgic walk down memory lane.

What I'm Reading:

  • Independent Bones, the latest Sarah Booth Delaney mystery from Carolyn Haines. It was good, quick, but not as fluffy and annoying as some cozy mystery series.
  • Faithless and Beyond Reach (#5 & #6 of the Grant County series) from Karin Slaughter. I enjoyed both of these, especially the final one in the series that, for me, finally explained about Sarah & Jeffrey's past (since I read the Will Trent series first).
