Thursday Thoughts

  • SP is back at work (from home) after his surgeries and time off. I think it's going OK. I haven't heard any grumbling.
  • The pricey eye stuff seems to have helped. I'll have to see if it stays helped now that I'm done using the cream. I hope it doesn't come back. That was awful.

What We're Eating:

What We're Watching:

  • The Tomorrow War (movie, Amazon Prime). There's a lot to mock about this film but it was mindless, battle aliens July 4 fun. Just don't try to understand the time travel/paradox stuff. Or, well, the rest of it. Just enjoy the action.
  • Onward (movie, Disney+). This was fun and made us laugh.
  • Luca (movie, Disney+). This was cute. This and Onward are animated and we almost always enjoy the animated Disney movies.
  • No Sudden Move (movie, HBOMax). For a heist gone wrong movie, this was slow and understated. But what a cast! Also, lots of double crossing and triple crossing and I had a hard time figuring things out after a while.
  • The Wire (HBOMax). I have already watched The Wire. Except for maybe Season 5? Not sure. But I loved it. SP has never seen it. We started watching it years ago but stopped for some reason and never resumed. So we decided to start from Season 1 Episode 1 and I guess this is what we're watching for the next 4-5 weeks. All 5 seasons. Just as good as I remember. And it's nice to rewatch a show and rediscover what you really enjoyed and discover new things.

What I'm Reading:

  • Dead By Dawn (A Mike Bowditch Novel) by Paul Doiron. This is the 12th Mike Bowditch novel. I couldn't put it down, really enjoyed it, and am so happy that the series is still a quality series with the characters developing and making changes through life.
  • Triple Chocolate Cheesecake Murder (#27 Hannah Swensen Mystery Series) by Joanne Fluke. Slightly better than the past 10-15 in the series (less of the stupid cat) but now there's this "good Hannah" vs "bad Hannah" thing going on with her thoughts and I found that a little annoying. And no one is as nice as Norman.
